Shabib Defends Title on Poison Lone Star Tour

Raed Shabib took down a 32-player, open 9-ball field, ousting Eric Aicinena in the second set of the true, double elimination final, 6-5, to capture the sixth stop of the 2026 Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour. Shabib defended his title in similar fashion as last month, when he lost the first set of the finals, but came back to win in overtime.

On June 13th, 2026, title sponsor Poison by Predator Cues, sponsors Predator Cues, Rack IQ, Outsville Billiards, and Team Straight Pool Eye, facilitated another successful event for players across Texas, providing a nearly $6,000 payout for over 40 competitors, including 13 Gulf Coast Tour women, at the 6th stop of the 2026 Poison Lone Star Billiards Tour. Once again, Damifino in Angleton, Texas provided twleve, 7’ bar tables for tournament play, all covered with new tournament blue cloth, in a non-smoking/vaping environment. Each table featured a set of Predator Arcos II Balls, with an Accu-Rack, thanks to Predator and Outsville Billiards. The room also featured a full-service kitchen with an extensive, restaurant-like menu, offering many dishes made from scratch!

In the open 9-ball tournament, winners’ side final 8, Todd Lewis bested Ray Porter, 6-4, while Clint Freeman overcame Johnny Griffin, 6-4. Raed Shabib took care of Wally Escobar, Jr., 6-4, and Eric Aicinena defeated Robert Wendel, 6-0. In the following round, it was Freeman over Lewis, 6-4, while Shabib made quick work of Aicinena, 6-2. On the west side, and in the final 8, Porter dusted off Griffin, 6-4, but fell in turn to Aicinena, 6-3. Newcomer, Bubba Fisher, eliminated Escobar, Jr., 6-5, losing to Lewis in the next round, 6-3. Down to the final four, Aicinena overwhelmed Lewis, 6-2, and squeezed by Freeman, 6-5, to meet Shabib in the finals. Aicinena wasted little time setting the tone for the first set, dusting off Shabib, 6-2. In the second set, Shabib reset, winning in a hill-hill thriller, 6-5. Congratulations to Raed Shabib on his second, consecutive open win.
