Raed Shabib
On May 16th-17th, 2026, title sponsor Poison by Predator Cues, sponsors Predator Cues, Rack IQ, Outsville Billiards, and Team Straight Pool Eye, facilitated another successful event for players across Texas, providing a payout of almost $11,000. There were over 70 competitors, including 16 Gulf Coast Tour women, who participated in the first event held at the Angleton hotspot. Damifino provided twelve, 7’ bar tables for tournament play, all covered with new, tournament blue cloth, in a non-smoking/vaping environment. Each table featured a set of Arcos II Balls and an Accu-Rack, thanks to Predator and Outsville Billiards. The room also featured a full-service kitchen with an extensive, restaurant-like menu, offering many dishes made from scratch!

Ricky Hughes
In the open 9-ball tournament, winners’ side final 8, Ricky Hughes squeezed by Elias Garza, 6-5, while Roland Stock, aka “Mr. Alaska”, took care of Johnny Griffin, 6-2. Raed Shabib overwhelmed Thomas Gallagher, 6-2, and James Davis, Jr., aka “Junior”, made quick work of Isaiah Arellano, 6-1. In the following round, Stock edged out Hughes, 6-5, while Shabib sent Junior west, 6-4. In the hot seat match, Shabib was on fire, blistering Stock, 6-1. On the west side, and in the final 8, hometown favorite, Cesar Arechiga eliminated Ray Porter, 6-4, but fell to Hughes, 6-5. Garza upset Griffin, 6-1, but subsequently lost to Junior, 6-5. At this point, Hughes was focused on the finals, ending Junior and Stock, by the same score, 6-3, to face off with Shabib. Hughes came out firing, overwhelming Shabib the first set, 6-2. In overtime, Shabib regrouped, and squeezed by Hughes in the second set, 5-4. Congratulations to Raed Shabib on his first win of the year, and to Ricky Hughes, who put up a great fight!
